Hi.

Welcome to my streak.  One hundred days of straight Peloton.

Your Newbie Guide to Peloton Instructors

Your Newbie Guide to Peloton Instructors

I find I've developed different relationships with different instructors. Each of them has their strengths as coaches and their individual personalities.  Over time it feels like you know them, you come to count of them for different messages as much as different workouts.  The relationship is closer to a teacher-student relationship, with your favorite teachers in school and of course, these guys have no idea who I am.

I've categorized each of the rides from my 100 day Peloton Streak and those are linked below.  Click the instructor name for a filtered list of the rides I've taken from each instructor.

Instructor Roll Call

Jess

Jess King provides a solid right with a soft, feminine flirty tone.  Her Live DJ Rides are exceptional as it helps to have the DJ take some of that flirty energy on!

Robin.png

Robin

Your high-energy pre-game booster friend is definitely Robin. She's has a bestselling book about her journey from lawyer to fitness personality/ Type One diabetes Ultra Runner.  She also is known to wear crazy things, especially for live DJ rides.

Alex.png

Alex

Your go-to instructor for a hard effort followed by a fist-bump is Alex T. He was the first instructor talent scouted from a New York Cycling studio--Flywheel.  It is easy to see why.  He's got great taste in music and is clearly having fun up there.

Christine.png

Christine

Your girl to boost your mental focus is definitely Christine. She competes as a sprinting cyclist and is an expert among the talented.  Each ride is executed perfectly in terms of its music and its intervals.  Be careful, she is known to make people cry with her focus on loving yourself while you push yourself toward the finish line.

Matt.png

Matt

Matt definitely will give you metrics and structure to coach you to a PR three weeks from then.  He's an endurance triathlete as as such he brings a real triathlete geekery for data to the team.  If you want to get your power numbers up, take his FTP test and start completing his power zone rides--exacting intervals at the edge of what you can do, not just what you think you can do.

Emma.png

Emma

Recently I've been enjoying Emma for your self-love vibe.

Jenn S.png

Jenn Sherman

Jenn Sherman is famous for her sing-alongs and feels like the soccer mom you wish you shared the mini-vans of your childhood with.  She has an epic following and is known for keeping track of her tribe/brood/followers.  When she gives you a shout-out for hitting a milestone, you feel like your soccer mom is proud-crying-yelling for you from the bleachers.

Ally.png

Ally

Ally Love's Epic Get Lifted rides are like church on the bike.  She's one to dance along with the music.  As a coach, she meets you where you are.  She's all about giving guidelines, but celebrating that you just got your hinney on the saddle.

Cody.png

Cody

Cody: if Robin is your pre-game, Cody is the one you want with you in the club when everyone else has gone home.  Much discussion has been made of Cody's eye candy wattage, but he more than anyone else makes me want to dance on the bike Soul-cycle style--though I won't because it is bad for your knees.

Jennifer Jacobs

And finally I am partial to Jennifer Jacobs and Hannah Corbin for their high wattage smiles. They are more like the aunt that you know is partial to you and can only see the best in you.

Denis.png

Denis

Denis is the instructor that you want to take to an outdoor music festival.  He is definitely the crowd surfer type.  His music is personal and spot-on.  His cues are exact.  And his arm segments of his rides really respect weight lifting as a discipline--the instructions are mindful and full of form cues.

Jennifer Jacobs is known for her high intensity interval training both on and off the bike-- she's into boxing gym style workouts.
