Day Fifty (Halfway!): Alex's 45 min Metrics Ride 6.28.17
A great ride with Alex this morning. There was a lot of variety, some strong climbs and that trademark freestyle moment when he encourages you to just blow it out! It didn't take long for me to push those intervals into my maximum effort. The sweat poured off me, the music shivered perfectly in my bluetooth headphones... It. Was. Epic. At least until the last interval where I decided I was done-done-DONE and just watched as everyone else rocked it out and I road along to the music. I love how I'm never embarrassed to do that. After all at 5am in Harlem, no one is awake, no one is watching. I had two folks I could see on the leaderboard from the #5:15tribe, but the leaderboard has stopped letting us see each other in real time in my #5:15 tribe.
The arms were short, the intervals varied, the music solid. Alex was his normal self, though not as peppy-I-love-my-job as I've seen him. But hey, it was Monday morning back in June when he did this class, just like it is Monday morning when I'm taking it three months later--- and Monday mornings are enough to kill anyone's vibe.
AND I'm halfway through the streak!
